Message Having had a TT race car on road coarces for a few years you will find a few interesting problems - some good /some bad.

We had a engine for the race car done by one of the best motor builders for the factory Nissan and Honda cars ( got to love sponsorship money) We had a tom of power.

But enven in full race trim, the cars with smaller motors and a lot less weight would kill us in the corners. Lord knows we know how to set up suspensions as well. So we opted for a Mitsu (first gen) AWD turbo with about 200 less H/P and are running 2 seconds on average faster at each track. Clearly the AWD is a major factor.

In my old driving days - when I was still drving cometitiely I owned a 76 930 Turbo. The major provblem besides expense for repairs is a Porsche loves oversteer. It takes a whole new level of driving to mater them at speed.

As for set-ups for road racing on a Z - Here is what we had on ours:

: I am planning to set up a track car for myself for performance driving schools. I am currently torn between the TT and setting up an older 911. I currently have a 90 TT with stage III.

: If I set up my TT:
: - how much more upgrades would I need?
: - brakes - Skyline vs. Brembo vs. AP - what would I need?
: - I think the TT weighs about 3300 lbs - how light can I make this car if I gutted it, and added carbon fiber or race panels? What is the best source for these parts?
: - Suspension - I will be updating to Tokico 5-ways, Eibach springs; and polyurethane bushings - any other considerations?
: - Power - I am upgrading to HKS intercoolers. What else should I consider?
: - Drive line - any tranny, driveshaft or rear diff upgrades suggested?
: - Wheels and tires - What is the largest size rears I can use without body modification?

: Any considerations if I wanted to set up a 911?
